EFF has sights set on gaining double-digit traction nationally
EFF national chairperson Dali Mpofu says the party hopes to grow to over 10% in terms of national support.
As preliminary election results trickle in, votes counted show the ANC standing at 51.1%, the DA on 31.6% and EFF 6.6% so far.
Mpofu says it would be phenomenal for the three-year-old party to secure double-digit national support in their first attempt at contesting in local government elections.
He explains that, besides winning municipalities, the EFF will measure its success based on the growth of the absolute voter numbers, the consolidation of its strongholds and inroads made where they had previously missed the mark.
