Is there really a lack of Olympic culture in South Africa?

As South Africans continue to celebrate the country's successes at the Rio Olympics so far, will the country's successful athletes be celebrated and remembered after the Olympics?

Former South African athlete Mathew Quinn, expresses that concern, and believes that South African athletes need to be developed even better, and be celebrated in the years between the Olympics.

Quinn spoke to #NightTalk's Gugs Mhlungu and Sizwe Dhlomo, after sports writer Gary Lemke penned a piece which argues for the need to invest in an Olympic culture in South Africa.

Listen to the interview below:

We're excited at the moment... Once the Olympics are gone, we forget about it

Mathew Quinn, former South African track athlete

We haven't developed our athletes well enough. We don't have enough stories to tell

Mathew Quinn, former South African track athlete
