Cape design agency bags international award for simulator exhibit

Local interactive design agency FormulaD has won the prestigious Red Dot Award in Communication Design for their ground-breaking virtual reality project.

The Cape Town based agency beat out thousands of entries from 46 countries after developing the world’s first educational virtual reality (VR) shark senses exhibit.

FormulaD's managing director Marco Rosa explains that the agency is committed to designing interactive experiences that have educational value.

We use digital design, combined with technology, to create these experiences.

Marco Rosa, MD of Formula D Interactive

He says the power of VR technology has created opportunities for them to design applications that raise awareness, increase understanding and debunk myths.
