"We must eat this elephant called the ANC piece by piece" - Julius Malema

The EFF had said earlier they were caught between the two devils when making decisions about coalitions. The party has decided to help DA win Johannesburg, Tshwane‚ Nelson Mandela Bay and Ekurhuleni, but will not enter formal coalition.

EFF Commander-in Chief Julius Malema speaks to 702's Xolani Gwala about today's events.

He says the ANC has made the decision very easy for the EFF, because of its arrogance. he says the people of South Africa will no longer tolerate plutocracy and corruption by the African National Congress.

Though EFF has not fully committed to coalition with other parties. he says this is because the party is new and building and needs to maintain its identity and play a role as an opposition.

He is not a fan of DA's Johannesburg mayoral candidate Herman Mashaba though says he will accept the DA's decision.

Herman Mashaba hates his blackness and he has huge disrespect for poor people...he wants to be more white than white people themselves.

Julius Malema, EFF leader

They are not entering formal coalitions but they will vote for them. he says the DA loves white people more than anyone else.

It does not mean when I choose to marry, we won't have weaknesses.

Julius Malema, EFF leader

So they won't be entering a marriage with the DA but they will be lending support. and says Malema "let's give them a chance'"

We must eat this elephant called ANC piece by piece.

Julius Malema, EFF leader

Parks Tau will not be mayor and the ANC will not be in government in Johannesburg.

Julius Malema, EFF leader

He says the EFF would rather choose alliances that may be wrong than allow the ANC to stay in power.

If Herman Mashaba is mayor, then so be it, but we do not want to see ANC in power.
