IFP will form municipalities with DA in KZN but will hold all executive office

The democratic Alliance seems to have swing Johannesburg, Tshwane and Nelson Mandela Bay. The DA Federal Executive Chairman James Selfe speaks to 702's Xolani Gwala about coalition developments today.

I don't count my chickens before they hatch, but it would appear so, and we will look to the constitutions of the councils to see how they will pan out.

James Selfe, DA Federal Executive Chairman

Gwala raised the question about EFF's 'irritation' around Herman Mashaba as JHB mayor.

He went through our selection process. He was our candidate. He is the person that was up on the posters, and we don't think it would be appropriate for us to simply dump him because of a slight disagreement

James Selfe, DA Federal Executive Chairman

There are a number of KZN municipalities that the DA will be in coalition with the IFP, but Selfe says they have agreed the IFP will form those governments and the DA will not be taking any executive office there.
