Monument to the Khoi woman Krotoa unveiled at Castle of Good Hope

A monument was unveiled at the Castle of Good Hope in Cape Town by Defence and Military Veterans Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula.

It is in honour of Krotoa, a Khoi woman who from about the age of 10 worked in the Cape household of Jan van Riebeeck.

She is believed to have been a gifted translator.
