Clint White's crusade to capture Cape's love for Wayde van Niekerk

Capetonian Clint White has made it his mission to collect signatures and congratulatory messages for track star Wayde van Niekerk in a special book.

The young man has walked the streets of the CBD, inviting locals to share their love and support for the Olympic gold medalist on pages and pages of paper.

A lot of the message will get lost on social media and he's not going to have anything tangible to give to his kids one day to show them 'look, an entire nation was behind me'.

Clint White, Establisher of Wayde's Welcome.

Dubbed Wayde's Welcome, White has been on a crusade for the past week and has gathered over 500 signatures on foot.

White says he will continue with this campaign and visit various media outlets and corporate companies to get some more messages of encouragement.
