Government has created a “war room” to implement a turnaround plan for beleaguered electricity producer Eskom.
The war room is comprised of government and Eskom representatives.
“The war room’s communications operation team lead all communication regarding electricity in the country. Cabinet announced a five-point plan on electricity in December and there will be an integrated approach to the electricity challenges. The war room communication will be supported by Eskom and all other stakeholders,” the power utility recently said.
“Eskom’s media desk is a servant to the war room,” says Managing Director of EE Publishers Chris Yelland. “The war room gives government a complete grip over Eskom.”
