Tau says he's willing to serve on the opposition benches in Joburg, unless the ruling party decided to deploy him elsewhere.

I'm prepared to stay on as leader of the opposition in Johannesburg.

Parks Tau, former Joburg mayor

He says the ANC will position itself as constructive opposition in the City and consider it's support to DA leadership on an issue-by-issue basis.

They will require our support and we will support where we believe it is necessary. We're not going to be destructive, but we won't support at all costs either.

Parks Tau, former Joburg mayor
