Communications Minister Faith Muthambi and South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) board have defended the public broadcaster.
The minister and board appeared before Parliament's communications committee to address various issues including controversial editorial policy decisions, the firing of journalists, legal battles and its financial situation.

Muthambi was saying other media houses also apply censorship, referring to the eNCA employee who has complained about the state of affairs there, and that's not being reported and you don't see protests.— Gaye Davis, EWN reporter
