Mainstream media's SABC reports have been unfair says Parliament committee

Communications Minister Faith Muthambi and South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) board have defended the public broadcaster.

The minister and board appeared before Parliament's communications committee to address various issues including controversial editorial policy decisions, the firing of journalists, legal battles and its financial situation.

One of the members of the committee Maesele Kekana says the clarity they [minister and board] have provided on issues is completely different from what they have been reading about from the press.

Muthambi was saying other media houses also apply censorship, referring to the eNCA employee who has complained about the state of affairs there, and that's not being reported and you don't see protests.
