The Friday Stand-In 2016

Dali Mpofu calls ANC a strong brand that is dead

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) national Chairperson, Dali Mpofu joined Friday stand-in Chris Vick to talk about the post election mood and recent debacle in the political landscape.

Mpofu says as the EFF they are happy with the outcome of the election. He says what happened in the metros was an added bonus and a great success for the EFF. "The EFF worked hard but we didn't think it was going to work out as perfectly as it did. The ANC certainly made it easy for us," he said.

Mpofu spoke about Sipho Pityana's speech at Reverend Makhenkesi Stofile's funeral.

He says Pityana said the things they've been saying for the past three years that President Zuma is not a legitimate president.

According to Mpofu, Pityana spoke about Marikana, corruption and Tatane which are the issues the EFF has been hammering on. He says it is more satisfying when it comes from the ANC people.

The advent of the EFF has really changed the landscape and what has happened in the last three weeks has really shaken them

Advocate Dali Mpofu, national Chairperson of the EFF

Mpofu says the EFF's condition to remove Jacob Zuma served as an ultimatum to the leadership of the ANC. Now that the leadership has failed to effect that during the four day NEC meeting, the members are now embarking on executing the plan.

Once the bubble is burst by people like Sipho Pityana, I can tell you now that within a week or so one province will start talking, and then another region there and then you can't stop it anymore. Doing it from top down is never going to work

Advocate Dali Mpofu, national Chairperson of the EFF

He says the requests that they should return to the ANC will never happen because the ANC is dead.
