How can citizens positively direct anger and frustration about SA's uncertainty?

South Africans are taking to social media to voice their frustrations with the current state of politics in the country. Besides ranting on social media, what else can ordinary South Africans do?

Lawson Naidoo, Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution says the level of frustration among South Africans is very high at the moment.

He says there was a level of instability expected post elections but it is the war between the Hawks and Finance Minister that got citizens of this country very worried.

This is a justifiable sense of outrage among South Africans

Lawson Naidoo, Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution

Naidoo says South African should start directing their anger by creating strong institutions of governance and make sure that institutions like the Hawks carry out their responsibilities in a responsible manner.

A tax boycott was raised on social media as a suggested action to take. He doesn't think a tax boycott will do this country any good, especially in the current state of the economy.

It could end up harming the ability of government to do a lot of important things which are helping ordinary South Africans, especially the poor, who are battling with school fees, hospitals and social welfare.

It might be a misguided attempt expressing that frustration, and i think we need to be active and do much more than sit around and talk about these issues.

Lawson Naidoo, Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution

I think there should be much more orchestrated campaign of civil activism that is directed against particular things and directing our anger at what the actual wrongs are. And we have to accept that there is a political process.

Lawson Naidoo, Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution
