Hangberg's satellite dishes get smiley faces

A Cape Town woman has embarked on a unique project to encourage self-expression across the community of Hangberg.

Sone Kuhn, is the founder the Cape Town Dish Painting Initiative. She paints old and new satellite dishes with smiley faces and bright colours to revitalize the area.

Speaking to CapeTalk's Pippa Hudson, Kuhn says they've painted over 10 houses in two months.

She says her passion comes from working in the tourism trade and the love for her community. She is doing this to attract more people to the Hout Bay area to boost its tourism.

It is so nice to see the effect that colour has on everyone, it uplifts everyone and make the streets more happy...
