Every sport has it's niggles - AB de Villiers

Proteas captain and batsman, AB de Villiers, said his motivation to write the book, released on Thursday, was to share his life, experiences, ups and downs, obstacles and disappointments.

I had a story to share... especially with the younger generation.

He admits to not getting his way on the day of the CWC semi-final last year in terms of the player selection.

I had a gut feel that particular day and I didn't get my way... it happens to all captains.

While he would not name the person who made the call on that day about selection, he said there was a lot of "speculation" about what happened.

I warned the team, that there will be obstacles. Every sport has its niggles. We go out there to have an impact on the game, especially to see the delight on South African's faces.
