African National Congress (ANC) in the Eastern Cape has accepted Danny Jordaan's resignations as ANC leader and councillor in the Nelson Mandela Bay.
Spokesperson Mlibo Qoboshiyane indicated that Jordaan had his hands full with South African Football Association activities.
Qoboshiyane says that Jordaan will still work in the collective team for 2019 provincial and national general elections.
Jordaan was deployed by the ANC to Nelson Mandela Bay in June 2015 to serve as executive mayor.
According to reports Jorodaan has been absent from all three council meetings held after the municipal elections, now that the metro is led by the Democratic Alliance.
