WATCH: Cape dance video grabs Meghan Trainor's attention

Cape Town choreographer Rudi Smit says he hopes that his viral dance video will put South African talent on the map.

And it seems he's achieved just that, with popstar Meghan Trainor recognising Smit for his choreography to her smash hit, Me Too.

The video initially had over 30 000 YouTube views in less than 24 hours.

Just a day after being posted, the YouTube video has now received over 285 000 views and secured its spot as the No. 1 Trending Video on YouTube in South Africa.

At the same time, the direct video post to his Facebook Page, has garnered over 296 000 views and more than 4 000 shares.

The video features the sizzling moves of 27 talented dancers from Smit's Untimitive Dance Crew.

Smit has acknowledged the hard work of his team who helped create the frenzy, including videographer Dylan Pereira and editor Willem Botha.

Smit says that he's been working on video concepts in an effort to get more exposure and create production work for him and his dance crew.
