Two Jack Russells allegedly snatched by cops in Muizenberg

Nikki Rushin told John Maytham that on 2 September they noticed that their two Jack Russells had escaped from their property.

They immediately asked their neighbours if they had see them, only to be told that a law enforcement vehicle with three officers in it had picked up the dogs and driven away.

Rushin is in possession of a picture of the vehicle, but unfortunately the number plate is not clearly visible enough to trace it.

What I fear the most is whether this law enforcement vehicle is from the Muizenberg area because we are a tight community

Nikki Rushin

Right now we kind of reaching out to people to step up and realise that these dogs are very much loved by me and my partner

Nikki Rushin

Immediately after the conversation with Nikki Rushin, City of Cape Town's Director of Law Enforcement, Robbie Roberts called in to assure Rushin that they are working on this case.

He says it is taking a bit longer because they are finding it hard to identify the vehicle and its occupants.

We are doing our utmost to get hold of the perpetrators and see if we can find the dogs

Robbie Roberts, Director of Law Enforcement
