The future of West coast looking brighter
Saldanha Bay and Atlantis have received investment for infrastructure development from public and private investors. These areas were identified as Industrial Development Zone (IDZ), according to Juliet Prowse programme director at Accelerate Cape Town.
Both the developments of Saldahna Bay and Atlantis fall under the West Coast Industrial Plan, Saldanha as an oil-and-gas servicing hub and Atlantis as a renewable energy hub with the pending allocation as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
Prowse says these developments will also be able to support and benefit small businesses in the area and not just big business in the oil and gas industry.
