Mineral Resources Dept warns mining industry to stay out of politics - BD editor

Mining editor at Business Day, Alan Seccombe, says the warning given by Mineral Resources Deputy Minister Godfrey Oliphant at the Joburg Indaba should be taken seriously.

Seccombe says it was a clear warning to the mining industry to stay out of political affairs and mind their own business.

He says he has spoken to some of the mining CEOs before who have got special attention from the Department of Mineral Resources after speaking out.

The Department of Mineral Resources finds a way to penalise them for having spoken out.
