Adv. Busisiwe Mkhwebane: I will be subjected to the Constitution and rule of law

New Public Protector Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane says she will continue with investigations left unfinished by her predecessor Advocate Thuli Madonsela.

Mkhwebane says she will make sure that investigations at grassroots level are also given the same attention as high profile cases.

President Jacob Zuma appointed Mkhwebane as the Public Protector for a period of seven years with effect from October 15, 2016.

Xolani Gwala interviewed Mkhwebane about her new appointment.

I know what challenges I am expecting to face.

I have a lot of experience in governance and that is to advantage to that office because I know how government operates.

I will do my best. I will be doing my work without fear or favour. I will be subjected to the Constitution and the rule of law.
