Cinema advertising around the world has dropped - it makes up just 1% of the UK advertising spend and 0.5% in the USA.
Jonathan Cherry says that cinema audience attendance has dropped over the years, as going to the movies is just not an "experience" that it once was and advertisers need to have a defined target market.
But this all changed recently with the international release of the anticipated "50 Shades of Grey".
