Solly Msimanga, Mayor of the City of Tshwane, says they would consider what he terms 'water shedding' if the water usage does not get under control.
Msimanga says they are currently exploring other measures before they could consider this option.
Water shedding is the last resort if we do not get the 15% reduction that we need.— Solly Msimanga, Mayor City of Tshwane
Water levels in the Vaal Dam have dropped to almost critical conditions and the Tshwane municipality will receive 15% less water and stricter measures will be put in place.
Residents should be alerted to the fact that there will be reduced water pressure in certain areas, says Msimanga.
Residents are encouraged to reduce their water usage and save water.
