ANC spokesperson Zizi Kodwa says the charges against Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan have detrimental effects to the economy and public confidence in some of the State owned institutions.
He says South Africa prides itself on being a democratic country and it was important that whatever decision is taken in the matter that this reflects the rule of law.
More importantly is that it must bring confidence to all of us, to both domestic and international investors... to indicate that there is no vendetta against Gordhan and it is only the court of law that can prove that.— Zizi Kodwa, National Spokesperson of the ANC
Responding to Minister Gordhan's speech yesterday that all what is happening is politically motivated, Kodwa says he is confident that the court will objectively listen to both sides and make a decision. He says the court would not listen to public statements that are based on conspiracy theories but base its decision on evidence presented before it.
I don't think it is correct to make some suggestions about any conspiracy theory between now and then, lets allow our court to do what it is good at.— Zizi Kodwa, National Spokesperson of the ANC
