Meet Brian Altriche, founder of “we’re not normal” burger joint RocoMamas

Brian Altriche is the founder of RocoMamas.

Eighteen months ago there were only three branches in Johannesburg; today there are 40 across South Africa.

RocoMamas claims its “smash burger” is the country’s most Instagrammed one.

The term “smash burger” refers to the process of smashing a ball of ground beef on a hot grill to seal in the juices.

Altriche recently sold his niche dining concept to Spur Corporation.

The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield interviewed Altriche for his weekly “ShapeShifter” feature.
