Madonsela's report could mean the end of Zuma - analyst

Political analyst Ralph Mathekga says the Public Protector's report could result in a public relations nightmare for Jacob Zuma, which is why he believes the President and Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Des van Rooyen are going all out to suppress its release.

They have gauged that by the time they get a chance to have it reviewed in court probably their political career would've been undermined so severely that there is no coming back.

Ralph Mathekga, Political and Policy Analyst

Mathekga says President Zuma is fighting a political battle in refusing to have the contents of the report made public because he knows his detractors within the ANC are waiting for ammunition to intensify their campaign to have him removed.

He says the list of people within the ANC who want President Zuma recalled is growing and this report could be the key to finally succeeding.

That doesn't mean they are going to succeed but at least they could use any additional material to show that the Presidents position is compromised that he is not even making decisions.
