At the Post Cabinet media briefing in Parliament on Thursday, it was announced that there has been a change to a team created by Cabinet tasked to investigate the crisis into higher education funding.
According to EWN reporter Gaye Davis Pravin Gordhan is now part of the task team.
Davis says the team that was announced on Wednesday was criticised with questions asked to Parliament as to how a task team could be set around higher education and funding that excluded Minister of Finance.
When asked why Pravin Gordhan had initially been omitted, Minister on the Presidency Jeff Radebe said Gordhan had been part of the discussions as well as Minister of basic education, Angie Motshekga.
He said a number of proposals from students and businesses which offer alternative solutions to the funding problem would need the Finance Minister to be part of the task team.
