Classes for undergrad med students suspended at UCT 'til 2017

First, second and third year students studying Health Sciences at UCT will only continue with the academic programme in January 2017 and are now free to return home.

Dean of the Health Sciences Faculty, Bongani Mayosi released a statement explaining that student protests have made it "intolerable" for learning to proceed.

All teaching and learning activities for undergraduate students have been suspended for the year.

The faculty plans to complete teaching and final examinations during a mini-semester in January 2017.

Management expects that teaching activities for the 2017 academic year may start later than usual.
