Long weekend naps do more harm than good, says sleep guru

Nothing beats some serious rest after a long week of work, but new research suggests that weekend lie-ins might make people more tired.

A study shows that sleeping longer than usual over the weekends can confuse natural body rhythms to make you feel more groggy than before.

Swedish sleep researcher Susanna Jernelov explains that one's circadian rhythm is thrown off when oversleeping, creating a similar feeling to jet-lag.

According to Jernelov, it is best to have a consistent sleep routine throughout the week.

You'll feel more tired after the weekend. You might feel good during the weekend, but it might be difficult to get up on Monday morning again.
