President Jacob Zuma says fraud charges against Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan were never discussed at the ANC headquarters, Luthuli House, the night before the announcement by NPA head Shaun Abrahams.
There was speculation about the ANC's involvement to NPA's decision to charge Gordhan after Abrahams met with Justice Minister Michael Masutha the day before the nation found out the finance minister was going to be prosecuted.
Zuma was answering questions regarding South Africa’s economy in the National Council of Provinces (NCOP).

Two Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) members were forcibly removed from the House after they refused to be addressed by Zuma.
