Pre-roll ad that keeps you glued to the screen, you just cannot skip it!

An American insurance company, GEICO has finally got many You Tube viewers not to press SKIP on pre-roll ads. According to Jonathan Cherry, research has proven that 100% of You Tube viewers skip the pre-roll ads, the reason being that they are irritating.

A pre-roll ad is a promotional video that plays before the video selected by the viewer. After three seconds a “skip ad” button will appear to give the viewer an option to continue watching the ad or skip the ad to start watching their initial video clip.

GEICO came up with a new angle to keep viewers glued to the screen for the whole duration of the ad and avoid clicking the skip ad button. The video plays for about 5 seconds and a voice speaks directly to the viewer telling him or her that you can't skip the ad, it's already over. This catches the viewers’ attention leaving them yearning for more, wanting to see what happens next.

In case you haven't seen the ads, take a look below
