Police have confirmed that the truck driver involved in the accident where Public Service and Administration Minister, Collins Chabane and his colleagues were killed has been arrested.

ANC Spokesperson, Zizi Kodwa confirmed on 702 and Cape Talk this morning that Chabane died in car crash on the N1 Highway in Polokwane around 1am today.
Kodwa says that Chabane’s car collided with a truck that was making a U-turn on the N1 in Polokwane.
Kodwa reflected on Chabane's career and legacy in the ANC, and the the crucial role that his portfolio fulfilled in running the country.

In a statement released by the Presidency, President Jacob Zuma describes Chabane as an outstanding cadre of the liberation struggle and an accomplished member of his Cabinet.
