African National Congress (ANC) Chief Whip Jackson Mthembu says he is disturbed by 'defamatory utterances' from former SABC COO and SABC Group Executive for Cooperative Affairs Hlaudi Motsoeneng.
Motsoeneng has allegedly stated that if Mthembu does not stop making comments about him he will release information about Mthembu.
According to the office of chief whip, Mthembu is consulting lawyers to find out if Motsoeng's allegations constitute defamation and violation of his personal rights.
The Chief Whip has nothing to hide, and therefore Mr Motsoeneng is challenged to publicly state whatever he threatened to disclose or else publicly withdraw his utterances.— Office of the chief whip statement
ANC spokesperson in Parliament, Moloto Mothapo, says there have never been personal attacks from Mthembu to Motsoeneng.
He says Mthembu speaks on behalf of the ANC in Parliament.
