CPUT new student intake on track despite cancelling 2016 face-to-face lectures

Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) says face-to-face lecturers were cancelled because the 'university has reached a point of no return'.

The ongoing Fees Must Fall student protests have made it impossible for the university to continue with the normal academic programme.

CPUT spokesperson, Lauren Kansley, says departments are ready to finish the 2016 academic programme in off-sites locations identified by the university.

She says students who have been unable to finish curriculum will do assessments in January.

Kansley says the university will still be able to register the new 2017 intake.

Our staff has been working behind the scenes to process all applications. We don't see a danger with regards to that.
