CD Shatters are 23 000 RPM
Slow motion videos are popular online. Most slow the action down by filming at rates of around 70 000 frames per second. For very fast action even that frame rate is not enough. This video of a CD being spun until it shatters is rotating 23 000 times a second, the stress on the disc shatters it. The destruction (starting at the 5 min mark) films just 4 seconds which translates into 7,5 hours of footage.
