Ongoing political instability harms the economy - economist

Economist at Nascence Advisory and Research, Xhanti Payi, says political instability in the country is harmful to the economy and scares away potential investors.

The Rand has been fluctuating since the National Prosecuting Authority (Gordhan) charged Minister of Finance Pravin Gordhan with fraud.

A lot of investors say that, they want to put my money away, invest or export, but if I do that I don't know what the Rand will be like.

It is not uncommon for a political system to have changes and they tend to disturb, but it should not be constant as it has been.
