Hawks and SAPS to investigate Limpopo matric paper leak

The Department of Basic Education spokesperson , Elijah Mhlanga, confirmed reports that a matric maths paper was leaked in Giyani, Limpopo.

According to Mhlanga, an invigilator was alerted to the fact that one of the learners had a maths question paper on a cellphone and had shared it with friends in the class.

The invigilator investigated the matter immediately and found that the exam paper on the phone was the same as the one handed out.

Mhlanga says it is hard to trace where the paper came from because someone took photographs of it and made sure the bar code is hidden.

The bar code allows the department to trace where the paper came from, says Mhlanga.

The person who did this knew exactly what they were doing and were serious about undermining the system.

The Hawks and the SA Police Service have been called in to investigate the matter.

Maybe with their questioning tactic, they would be able to help us find the source of the leak.
