State capture report is here
After much legal debate, the Pretoria High Court ordered the Public Protector to release the state capture report by no later than 5pm on Wednesday.
In a turn of events earlier this morning, President Jacob Zuma announced that he would no longer pursue court action to have the report blocked.
Opposition parties and former ANC MP Vytjie Mentor were ready to fight it out and had intervened in Zuma's legal bid to interdict the report's release.
Meanwhile, civil society groups and political parties embarked on nationwide protests against political uncertainty and state capture.
At the same time, the office of the Public Protector has confirmed its CEO Advocate Louisa Zondo has resigned citing personal reasons.
