Opposition parties table fresh vote of no confidence in No1 after report release

2 November 2016 5:55 PM
UDM's Bantu Holomisa and DA's Mmusi Maimane say they'll will debate a fresh motion of no confidence in President Zuma next week.

DA leader Mmusi Maimane says the release of the state capture report is a victory for democracy and Constitutional power.

Maimane says it's a crucial moment in South Africa and the DA has tabled a fresh motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma to be debated in Parliament next week.

According to Maimane, the he cancerous nature of corruption is deeply evident in the findings of the report.

When you read the report from Eskom, to the Guptas, you realise that South African resources have been captured by a few individuals for the benefit of some.

At the same time, UDM leader Bantu Holomisa says the report shows Zuma's relationship with the Gupta family has brought the country into disrepute.

He says the UDM will focus on ANC rather than Zuma, as the party delivered him to the country.

Holomisa advises that it is important to follow the remedial action from the report which was led by Thuli Madonsela, with the help of opposition parties.

Meanwhile, ANC spokesperson Zizi Kodwa says the state capture allegations are an attack on democracy.

Kodwa says ANC will respond to the report and says its important to restore confidence in the leadership of the country.

Kodwa says that he is happy that the report has been released and has full confidence in Zuma.
