Marketers will spend a whopping R6.5-trillion in 2015 on advertising, according to research firm Carat, a 4.6 percent increase over 2014.
Worldwide spending on advertising is forecast to climb another five percent in 2016.
This growth is largely fuelled by digital ad spend, expected to grow by 15.7 percent in 2015.
Digital advertising now makes up 24 percent of total advertising spend while television attracts 42 percent of spending followed by newspapers and magazines.
