Hawks deny investigation into Mantashe, Jonas, Mkhize and Gordhan

The Hawks are now allegedly investigating deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas, ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe and ANC treasurer Zweli Mkhize.

It seems they are under the microscope for allegedly failing to report a R600 million bribe made to Jonas by Ajay Gupta. Jonas claims Ajay Gupta made the offer to him in an effort to get him to take up the finance minister’s post, allegedly as part of their efforts to siphon more money off the state.

CapeTalk's Kieno Kammies speaks to Hawks spokesperson Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi who denied this investigation is underway.

He says they will wait until the outcome of the commission of inquiry before any action is taken.

Mulaudzi urges people to stop creating rumours to further their own political agendas and says Hawks boss, Berning Ntlemeza operates without fear or favour.
