Mbalula and Olympic silver medallist trade blows on Twitter

Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula and Olympic silver medallist Sunette Viljoen have been embroiled in another Twitter spat today.

It's alleged the star javelin thrower is still awaiting a bonus payment promised for winning a silver medal at the Rio 2016 Olympics.

On Monday morning, Viljoen posted a screenshot of an apparent WhatsApp conversation with the Sports Minister.

In the exchange, Viljoen asks Mbalula when the R70 000 would be made for her performance in the Games.

Mbalula then responded in several tweets, claiming that Viljoen was ungrateful and that she and her partner where abusing and the department.

Neither of the parties could be reached for comment.
