ANC's Fransman slams sexual assault allegation as a political plot

ANC (African National Congress) Western Cape leader, Marius Fransman, has accused the party's national disciplinary committee of unfair treatment.

Earlier this year, a young woman (Louisa Wynand) levelled a sexual assault allegation against him in the North West province after the ANC's January 8th celebrations.

What you have seen is that Wynand has become a pop star running all over the various news channels telling the story.

In response to the political storm, the party's top leadership asked him to step down to allow for investigations to proceed.

In recent developments, Fransman has spoken out and denied being suspended, adding that certain individuals within the party had tried to use the sexual violation allegation as a ploy to remove him from his position.

I am not suspended, I am the elected chairperson. I actually have a letter confirming that I'm not suspended.

He said that he has complied with law enforcement processes to follow and has decided to speak out as he was never charged.

Listen to his response below:

The law enforcement did look into it and said there is no possibility that prosecutable evidence exists.. that was both the NPA and police.
