59 women have led their countries in the last half century

There have been 59 female leaders in the past half century, according to a 2016 report from the World Economic Forum.

Sirimavo Bandaranaike, from Sri Lanka, was the first back in 1960.

Hillary Clinton, if elected, will become the 60th female leader and the most powerful woman in history.
