Slain Cape attorney Noorudien Hassan laid to rest

Murdered Cape Town attorney Noorudien Hassan is being laid to rest this afternoon.

The 45-year-old was shot several times while in a car outside his Lansdowne home on Monday night and died while in hospital.

Meanwhile, the anti-gang organisation Pagad says it’s not saddened by the murder of the criminal lawyer who had represented alleged gang bosses.

Hassan represented several alleged Western Cape gangsters including 28s gang boss Ralph Stanfield, 26's leader Jerome Booysen, in addition to a murder accused and suspected gun peddler.

Pictures of the car with shattered windows were posted on a Facebook account attributed to a group called Pagad G-Force, apparently a breakaway group from Pagad.

Pagad spokesperson Haroon Orrie says they are not sorry about Hassan’s murder, but maintains that the group is not behind it.
