What are US-SA trade implications under Trump administration?

Concerns have been raised about possible changes that could occur during a Trump administration in the United States.

The property businessman-turned-politician beat Hillary Clinton at the 2016 presidential elections on Wednesday.

The economy, race relations and foreign policy have emerged as the major concerns for citizens and the global community due to his divisive comments made during his campaign.

702's John Robbie spoke to researcher at the SA Institute of International Affairs, Chelsea Markowitz, regarding her take on what South African can expect.

In terms of economics, he's probably going to try re-negotiate trade deals so I think that's going to be the main change we're going to see.

She attributed his victory to higher voter turn out from rural areas where voter apathy had risen and lower voter turn out from the African-American community and the youth.

Anti-Trump supporters have taken to the streets in protest against the results.
