The ANC has suspended the membership of Western Cape provincial chairperson Marius Fransman.
He's been suspended for five years after being found guilty on two counts of misconduct.
The ANC statement says Fransman has shown no remorse, failed to attend his disciplinary hearing and has demonstrated no understanding of the oppression women suffer.
Fransman has been embroiled in a political storm after former employee Louisa Wynand accused him of sexual assault.
He's been found guilty of abusing his office for the purpose of attempting to obtain a sexual favour from Wynand and for "making public statements which brought the ANC into disrepute".
