EFF: Zuma is going to 'kill' the ANC and its opponents

EFF Deputy President Floyd Shivambu says President Jacob Zuma has nothing to lose and will take down the ANC and his opponents with him.

You're voting for him today but he's going to kill you later.

Parliamentarians have been debating a DA-led motion of no confidence in Zuma in the National Assembly today.

The motion comes a week after the release of the scathing state capture report by former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela.

Shivambu refused to withdraw comments that Zuma would kill others, and that the Gupta family appointed ministers Mosebenzi Zwane and Des Van Rooyen.

Instead, he repeated himself.

I'm not going to withdraw the truth... All dictators, after they steal government money and enrich their families, their last options is to kill their opponents. That's were it's going.

Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Lechesa Tsenoli said he would not take Shivambu's refusal lightly.

Meanwhile, ANC MPs claim the DA has distributed letters in the National Assembly, urging members to vote in a particular way.

DA leader Mmusi Maimane was the first to speak, urging MPs to put the people of South Africa before politics.

Water and Sanitation Minister Nomvula Mokonyane, who spoke on behalf of the ANC, says the DA is denying the will of the people and distorting constitutional democracy.

She slammed the official opposition for it's motion against Zuma, while DA's Glynnis Breytenbach continues to face NPA fraud charges.

Mokonyane argued that the official opposition are trying hard to disrupt the work and achievements of the ANC, which she says is on a path of self correction.

She also made a comment on the DA using "using a black face to protect the interest of the white minority", which Tsenoli will rule on.
