Fransman accuser speaks after his suspension

The national disciplinary committee of the ANC suspended its Western Cape provincial chairperson Marius Fransman for a period of 5 years. Fransman was found guilty on two counts by the party.

During a trip to this year's ANC annual birthday celebrations in Rustenburg, Fransman it is claimed, attempted to obtain sexual favours from Louisa Wynand.

The other charge relates to him making public statements which brought the party into disrepute.

CapeTalk's Kieno Kammies spoke to Louisa Wynand, the woman who accused Fransman of sexually assaulting her.

Wynand says the incident has affected her everyday life in a negative way. She is often asked how is she going to prevent a situation like that happening in future when applying for a job.

Fransman has maintained his innocence and lashed out at the disciplinary committee, reportedly wanting to appeal the decision to suspend him for five years.

It's hard having people judge you based on this... but my family has been super supportive.

Louisa Wynand

People on face book were super nasty, that's why i removed myself from it.

Louisa Wynand

These days I keep to myself and don't put myself in situations where I have to explain some parts of my life. I'd rather be at home...

Louisa Wynand

Waynand says she is happy and relieved that the ANC did a thorough job in investigating the matter and finally found Fransman guilty.
