Meet Ben Magara, CEO of Lonmin (3rd largest platinum producer in the world)

Lonmin is a British producer of platinum group metals operating in South Africa.

It is listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Its operational headquarters are in Johannesburg.

Lonmin is the third biggest platinum producer in the world after Anglo Platinum and Impala Platinum.

It made headlines around the world following the Marikana miners' strike in August 2012.

More than 100 striking Lonmin employees were shot (36 killed; 78 wounded) by officers of the South African Police Service.

The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield interviewed Lonmin CEO Ben Magara (48) for his weekly “ShapeShifter” feature.

Magara is a Mining Engineering graduate of the University of Zimbabwe.
