White South African raises money for coffin assault victim

Lizzie Allen and friends have come out and condemned the racial assault on Rethabile Mlotshwa, by Willem Oosthuizen and Theo Martins Jackson.

Mlotshwa allegedly forced into a coffin by both Oosthuizen and Jackson, who then threatened to set the coffin alight.

The two appeared in the Middelburg Magistrates Court on Wednesday and abandoned their bail application.

Allen says raising money for Rethabile is good gesture from white South Africans after he was treated in the most heartbreaking and appalling way.

This is a way of saying as white South Africans we are not with you, we don't agree with you for what you've done. Our hearts go out for Rethabile.

In just 24 hours, Allen says money raised for Rethabile totals R6000 and they are planning to keep the fundraising going until Christmas.

Allen says the damage done by apartheid in South Africa is not going to be fixed overnight.

We just want to hand over a gift to him by New Year's Eve from white South African to say not all white South Africans are like those two.
